  • It works

    Dolf Walg 6 years ago

I ordered the stove and installed it against an outer wall in the kitchen. We created an external chimney with dinak pipe and 12 meters up. I took the connection for the pipe on top to avoid... []

Stove expert replied: Not a good idea to store wood close to a stove to dry it out, it should be at least 450mm away as it is combustible!!

  • Smoking

    Noel Ivers 7 years ago

It smokes like crazy when you open the doors to load fuel ther seems to be no solution to this. The handles are a bad design and you have to use Oven gloves to open and close them after the... []

Stove expert replied: Seek expert flue advice to overcome the smoking problem as it is a shame not to enjoy your stove.

  • works for me

We had this fitted as part of a re-fit inc solar water heating in 2011, we ( well the fitters) had a minor problem with the first one they sent, as it leaked. This was replaced in a couple... []

Stove expert replied: Try leaving a small covering of ash on top of the grates to protect them and remove the ash from the ashpan at least twic a day. If ash builds up and touches the grates ate the bottom this can distort them and will shorten the life of them.

  • Disappointed

Unfortunately we have had a problem with our stove leaking water. We noticed that the ashes were wet and the ash pan was corroding away. We had the stove installed Sept/Oct 2011. Getting... []

Stove expert replied: If a warranty problem occurs then you will always deal with the person you had the contract with and not direct with the manufacturers. To get some part of the re-installation costs paid is good but most manufacturers will not cover this. £700 does seem high for an exchange though! Unfortunate experience for you and not a common one with the number of boilers that they make. One point - if you close the airwash fully the glass will blacken as it can't work unless open!

  • Excellent all round !!

    Stephen Brightwood 8 years ago

I got this to replace a Saey Blenheim which wasn't quite up to heating our three bedroom bungalow. This was the best decision we ever made, it heats the 11 big radiators with ease and is takes... []

Stove expert replied: any stove, let alone a boiler stove, will tend to get blackened glass when turned down. Sounds like this one is working really well.

  • Unimpressed

We have a 3 bedroomed house with 2 double, double fin radiators, 2 double single fin rads and 3 single, double fin rads. The general consensus was that this Herald 8 wraparound boiler stove... []

Stove expert replied: If you are using lots of fuel for little heat output then the flue draw may be excessive. This can be addressed with either a damper or flue stabilizer. Further investigation is required to overcome this problem.
