  • Brilliant - but more than 5kw

    James Morton 3 months ago

This is an extremely solid stove. Very well built, highly controllable with great efficiency and near perfect air wash. Once you get the balance back (recommend a flue thermometer) then you
can watch an amazing flame view for ages between reloading. Great styling that somehow walks the line between modern and traditional. I would only recommend this for large rooms though - open plan areas or older style (pre 1920s) living rooms. That is because it is large - this has been known to put out 10kw when burning well and it really does burn best when you fill the large chamber. Recommend longer logs - it can take them.

  • Noisey

    Tiffany Haynes 6 years ago

Frustratingly noisey I know it is called clock but it ticks and clunks to the point that you have to turn the tv up. I think it is the plates and screws at the back expanding and contracting
    - would not buy again. I also agree with the other review that it puts smoke out in to the room everytime it is opened.

  • No air wash controls

    Sue Key 3 months ago

almost from day 1 the airwash control on the right hand side does not wwork, fitter came back twice to fix and then stop working shortly afterwards.he is no longer available. Have contacted
the manufacturers to see what could be done under warranty and they send e mails detailing what they will do and then nothing.Smoke does billow out when I reload the fire but whether this is down to the controls I do not know, have to wear a mask. Will be replacing the stove this summer a costly mistake

  • Stove has cracked

    Stuart Wright 3 months ago

My stove was installed approx 4 years ago. At the time of installation I was very happy with the stove as it performed really well, however the stove has cracked and when I approached the installer
, R&S fireplaces of Crook in Co Durham, I was told that the stove carries a 7 year warranty, however as the stove was not registered the warranty was void. Very disappointing as I was not informed I had to register the stove.

  • First Class Stove

    Kevin Morrish 3 months ago

We purchased a clock blithfield compact 5 and had it fitted by a local professional fitter in Essex. We had the chimney lined and fireplace chopped out to provide a slightly bigger chamber for
it to sit in. The stove itself feels very well made and built to last. Its performance is excellent and we have had no issues with smoke billowing in the room or any issues around it making too much noise. It is quiet, efficient and provides a supreme level of heat. The controls on it are very precise and a joy to use...From talking to our fitter he advised that stoves will behave differently depending on how that are used (or not used correctly) and where geographically they are fitted. We have a very tall chimney and live in an area that is not to built up. Our clock stove is frankly the best investment we made and we absolutely love it. If you are thinking of getting a stove fitted I would recommend you get a survey first and proper advice on it''s installation, how to light it, control it etc. It could be the best decision you ever made.

  • Terrible paint quality

    JOSEPH COONEY 3 months ago

We have had a terrible experience with Clock. We bought a Blithfield through our fitter. After one season, the paint surface started to erode, and we are left with the raw metal surface. Clock
didn''t answer our emails, and then during a phonecall, told us to contact the supplier. We did, and Clock told the supplier to tell us that the paint wasn''t under warrant. What a poor service from a poor company. The woodburner is ok..the vents are fiddly and a bit tedious to use.

  • Clock Blthefield double sided

    Geoffrey Malkie 3 months ago

Reasonably pleased with the stove the controls seam to operate the wrong way round but work ok. I have five wood burners the only one with an air wash system that works well is a Clearview the
Clock needs cleaning daily a Clearview you clean monthly. Overall not a bad stove just a pity the air wash is poor.

  • Very Smoky on opening door, Glass marks very easily, Colour changes on heating up.. not recommended

    Janine McGowan 3 months ago

We bought this fire thinking for its price it would be a sound buy. Within a few days after the initial burn period the glass was smoked up, handle gets hot too so use the glove, the colour
has altered drastically (red stove), and please don’t me started on the smoke bellowing into the room when you reload it.. Followed all the advice in the manual, dry wood (kiln dried), it’s an absolute nightmare to the point at 3mths in I’m looking at another fire.. DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU WANT TO SMELL LIKE YOUR FIRE

  • Annoyingly Smokey

    Christopher Leaming 3 months ago

Having read these reviews and experiencing the same Smokey problems, maybe it’s time the manufacturer tried to alter the design of the extraction system to overcome this problem. It is a real
shame as it’s a lovely stove and they are not cheap but expensive, I agree with a previous reviewer that the smoke is diverted to the front of the stove by design and then when the door is open overspills into the room, a flu fan may overcome this I’m not sure but should you really have to do this..
