  • Warped backplate

    Billy Bones 4 years ago

Initially loved this little stove but after a few months the backplate warped to such an extent it sheared the head off the holding bolt. I know I am by no means the only one to have had this... []

  • Door problems

    Crystal Walker 4 years ago

I really love my little stove and family members had Charnwood stoves which is why I got it, however, the door won't quite latch shut as it dd at first. I have only had it a few months and mostly... []

Stove expert replied: Check the manual or go back to the supplier or installer to check that an adjustment is not all that is required.

  • Great little stove

    Richard Carroll 4 years ago

We've had this stove for 4 years and on the whole I've been very please with it. The large window means it's good to look at and it certainly kicks out enough heat to warm our living space up... []

Stove expert replied: I would recommend the installation be checked as you should not still be getting a smell.

  • A cut above

    Bob O'Brian 4 years ago

Firstly, I wanted as big a firebox as I could get in this class of stove. Thanks to the wide and shallow shape, coupled with the use of ceramic liners rather than firebricks, the Charnwood has... []

  • Disappointing Woodburner

    Jacki Hebblethwaite 5 years ago

We bought this woodburner to provide background heating in our hall. After less than a year the internal back plate has buckled and is not covered by the guarantee. We do not have a thermometer... []

Stove expert replied: It may be caused by an over drawing flue which will make to stove work harder than is recommended, you can establish this if the stove has little control and is always busy but not producing a great deal of heat. The quality of timber will also make a huge difference to the heat produced.

  • Our C4 (not Country 4) is the best thing we've ever bought!

    Claire Dolman 5 years ago

This stove has exceeded all our expectations. We only use it as a wood burning stove so have no experience of using other fuels, but it keeps our small terraced house very cosy. If we use... []

  • Efficient, Quality Woodburner - a benchmark for others.

I visited many showrooms and friends with burners before deciding on the Charnwood Country 4. This one appeared to be good value and made in the UK as well - everyone warns to avoid the cheap... []

  • Plenty of research = good choice.

    Paul Harmer 6 years ago

Of all the stoves in all of the world, I am glad I chose this one. A lot of research went into this, 6 months use and I made the right decision. Very pleased.

  • A wellmade well behaved little stove.

    David 6 years ago

The Charnwood Country 4 (wood only) stove is a reasonably priced, well built British stove with unfussy styling, a large glass door and a convenient wooden handle. It is a sensible choice for... []
