Villager B series stove

The Villager B series stove is a BH,BL or Flatmate stove.

This is the mid range model and therefore probably more used.

This Vilager stove has got 2 doors with plain glass panels

&

is available with a flat top, low canopy or high canopy.

There is an optional boiler & multi fuel kit available for this Villager model.

    Purchased this based on it's looks and it had the right heat output and came with a remote control option.Had trouble right from the start with this, the fitter changed the thermocouple twice
    and the control box within first 12 months. Always been difficult to light. Have since replaced Gas Valve twice, Thermo couple another twice and control box twice.Very unsatisfactory dealings with the manufacturer. They no longer support the remote control version and used to offer a manual conversion but do not any more. I will be replacing this stove very soon.

    This is the second Villager Flatmate we have had. We have had over 15 years continuous service out of the current stove and it still cleans up like new. And we REALLY use our stove. Our home
    was flooded a few years back and our stove looked like a pile of rust. After a quick run over with a wire brush and a coat of stove black, it came up like new again. And no rust came back either. It is a very simple design BUT the great thing is the baffle on the chimney, which makes it so controllable. We have friends with more expensive "trendy" woodburners and we sit and watch their wood burn away in no time at all. The only reason that I didn't give the overnight burning a 5 is that you do need to use a good mix of wood to keep the stove in overnight. If you use the right wood, there is no problem keeping it in. We live in a large 5 bed house and the Villager can keep the whole house lovely and warm. Don't be put off by the size, it is a little treasure! We also do a lot of cooking on the stove. It's great for stews, casseroles and makes the most amazing steamed Christmas puddings! All in all, for the price this is a gem!

  • great heating system but NEED HELP

    I'm in need of help, earlier this year I was lucky enough to be given a villager wood burner for my living room, I purchased the flue pipe and a 90 degree angle as I also wanted to be able to
    use burner to cook. It only took a few hours to fit and since has been heating my 2 bedroom bungalow. BUT the last few days whenever I open the doors to put more wood on my living room has been filling with smoke and smoke alarms going crazy, even when the paddle at the back is open. I do let my burner have a full air wash occasionally but mainly its shut up as wood doesn't burn as fast. Please Help me!!

    Stove expert replied: Have you had the chimney swept? Is there an air brick in the room? Leave more air wash to help with the draw. If still having problems suggest getting an installer to check, seems strange that is worked fine and this has now changed so I am sure this can be rectified. Have you got trees near the house that have grown since installing the stove?

  • Very disapointing

    This is review for villager B LPG stove. Very disappointed with this Stove and over the last 5 years have had no end of problems with it. It has the remote control option which was a expensive
    option to purchase. Very difficult to light if it lights at all. Have replaced the Gas control Valve, 3 X thermocouples, 2 X Control boxes and remote sensor over the last 5 years and now it has failed again. Now cannot get spares from Arada so only fit for scrap now.

    Inherited this stove when bought a house in France 10 years ago so I suspect it could be 20-25yrs old as was purchased by previous English owners. Heats the room well and creates a great ambiance
    in the house. Have recently replaced all but four the of fire bricks which was a simple task. If was replacing would probably purchase a slightly larger size but same brand.

  • Beware remote control!!

    Our third Villager model in three different locations. This time we went for remote control which has been most disappointing. Basically there are too many safety devices built-in so the stove
    keeps failing. It's now last chance; one further failure and it's OUT.

    THIS STOVE HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT TROUBLE SINCE WE BOUGHT IT PARTS ALWAYS BREAKEN DOWN . GOING OUT AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS , PROBLEMS WITH LIGHTING IT .WOULD NEAVER BUY THIS MODEL AGAIN . WHAT
    A WASTE OF MONEY.
