Review of Westfire 5 stove

A great little stove

Gary Pickering 13 years ago

This is my first wood burning stove. Very easy to(DIY)fit as well as install a twin wall chimney system. Excellent service from Stoves-on-Line, can't rate them high enough. Particulary helpful advice and support from Ben Cazzola.

Really impressed with the stove and how much heat it kicks out for the small amounts of wood it consumes. If I leave all the internal doors open it will heat the whole house!

The build quality is very good, it is extremely easy to light and control - it helps to fit one of those magnetic stove temp monitors to the stove pipe. Its a bit unfair to mark it down for 'burning overnight' as this range of stoves is simply not designed to do this - but it does stay warm for hours and is simple to light the next morning.

The stove also looks great in a modern setting, sitting only on a 12mm glass hearth, the glass hearths are extremely tough and you don't need to worry too much if your floor it not perfectly level.

My only original problem was noise - really loud ticking and clicking - but this was remedied when I removed the metal bar that fits across the throat of flue output - apparently its only fitted for when the stove is hung and painted in the factory. You can also download instructions from Eurostoves website if you don't receive any.

Overall really pleased with it and I expect some massive savings on my gas bill!

Stove expert replied: the metal bar across the flue spigot is usually always removed before dispatch on this stove so this must have been the odd one that got through.
