Review of Westfire 5 stove

Westfire 5 stove hotter than I thought!

Martin 14 years ago

Heat output exceeded expectations - it can easily heat my small house - even the totally uninsulated kitchen (I'm working on it).

Overnight burning is the only slight disappointment, but this comes with the airwash technology so overall worth living with. I have built a thermally massive hearth and wall behind so I get a good slow release heat that way.

Stove expert replied: most modern stoves will not tend to be that good at burning overnight: burning overnight requires that the air be turned down to the point that combustion becomes inefficient which tars up the window, stove and chimney increasing the risk of chimney fire and also increases the amount of harmful particulates.
