Although the ash pan is small, it produces very little ash when burning hard, so only needs emptying every week or so.

The glass only needs cleaning yearly.

The only fault I can find is in the instructions - they described the LH and RH controls the wrong way round. LH is top air so open when running, RH is bottom air so open to get the fire started and closed once hot.
