I bought my Resolute 2490 from a guy who was moving. It had only been used one winter. I have an Intrepid which we moved to the bedroom, so I have 7 to 9 years of stove burn experience. I love the2490 with one exception. It has one burn setting.....high. You can move the damper lever left, right with no effect. I have been told that a warped casting could be wedged not allowing the damper plate to close.....expertise, please!
Stove expert replied: It may not be to do with the stove but could be a flue draw issue, I would suggest getting this tested as this can have additions made to it to enable more control (a flue damper or stabilizer). If the damper on the stove is not working fitting either of these should have the same effect.
