Review of Tiger stove

Tiger Stove - Not the best but overall i love it

Steve 12 years ago

Have a Tiger stoves fitted in the open plan living room/kitchen (approx 12 x 24),

Tend to light the fire with smokeless coal and then add wood once fire established. Heat output: takes a while for cast iron to warm up but once going plenty of heat to warm the room and upstairs in doors left open. Build quality: no issues at all. Controllability: The fire has only one air control, if you are gentle with the positioning of this, the fire is very controllable, People need to be aware that the fire will not respond straight away, give it 5 minutes and the fuel will alter its heat output. Air-wash: Hmmmm... not the best. Ok with smokeless coal (of course), but it is vital that the wood is very dry otherwise the window will soot up. Not a major issue though, a quick wipe over with wet newspaper and hey presto clean again

Overall well chuffed, make an excellent focal point, i spend more time watching the flames than i do the telly !
