Tige gas stove..please help!!

Have had this stove for 5yrs. Already had to call someone out few yrs ago for persistent problem of difficulty igniting then having to hold the ignition knob in for up to a minute before releasing to fully light the fire. It also completely cuts out at random times when lit..?

Reset the coals and cleaned excess soot out last week but now although the ignition flame is bigger the fire won't light at all...!! Any advice much appreciated in especially since the weather has turned so cold..I'm freezing.!,

Stove expert replied: Has the stove been serviced by a gas engineer? This is suggested every year and it may be that the igniter needs replacing.
