Review of Tiger stove
Smoke leakage
I have had my tiger cleanburn 2 months and have struggled with smoke spilling into the room when reloading. I have placed a rotavent cowl on as advised and no joy there. I increased the height of my chimney by 1.2m to 6m 2.5ft above my roof line and still no joy. My chimney is 7 5/8 inch diameter. I have tried the windows open and every thing you could imagine but still smoke wants to play in my house when reloading. I feel the last option is to line the chimney but will this solve it? The fire burns terrifically with the door closed so no problem there.
Stove expert replied: You may need more air in the room, depending on how well insulated the property is. If you have another chimney in the house this may be the cause if the flue draw is stronger than the flue you are using with the stove, the gases get pulled back into the room when the fire door is opened due to the pressure change. Lining a chimney will increase the draw and is advisable for large chimneys or older ones. I would suggest speaking to a chimney / flue expert for further advice.
