Review of Tiger stove
baffle plate
I have had the stove for about 3 years now overall I am pleased with it, replaced fire bricks and rope seal which I would class as normal the only down side is that I am on my second baffle plate as it warps it has also cracked the top plate due to the excess heat at the point of the warped plate, any advise
Stove expert replied: What fuel are you using and how hard are you firing the stove? Baffle plates will deteriorate over time but their life expectancy can be reduced if the stove is over fired or the incorrect fuel is used on it. Ideally maximum draw (where all vents are in the open position) should only be operated for 15 - 20 mins twice a day with shorter periods during the operating time, all the vents should not be left fully open all the time.

I use cut up pallet wood, logs and smokeless coal, the chimney is sweped once a year, the vent is only fully open on various occasions, ie,just after starting fire to get it going or if its cold and run down I open the vent for a few minute's. I only have one adjustable sliding vent at the bottom of the fire.
