Review of Tiger stove
tiger gets hot but room still cold
my tiger gets hot but it does not genarate hardly any heat in the room. I've tried using every type of fuel but nothing seems to work unless I have the door open. I've had a flue liner fitted and my room size is 12ft by 12ft my fire is set back in the chimey breast the front is level and I have a 5 inch gap all the way round and I have just got bare brick may be the gap round the fire is not big enough to circulate the heat but I'm dissapointed as all the people I talk to say they are red hot please could you help.
Stove expert replied: Clearances to non-combustible materials should be 150mm either side and back with 300mm above so if you only have 125mm (5") above will certainly restrict the air flow of the heat produced. It may be worth looking at bringing the stove forward so that the heat generated can radiate freely into the room. The hearth may well need to be extended.
