Review of Tiger stove

Tiger stove, wouldn't be without it

Karen Bestwick 11 years ago

I bought my tiger stove 3 years ago. I can honestly say it is probably the best thing I have ever bought. It bought our fuel bill down from £150 a month to £45 a month. My husband and I don't watch much tv anymore as we are happy to sit by the fire and relax with it. We have a 3 bedroom house with a conservatory and only on the coldest of nights do we need any further heating anywhere. Our fire is downstairs and it heats upstairs perfectly well, (I have taken the doors off downstairs for this reason). Two minor problems we have encountered was a crack in the back fire brick quite soon after purchase although this does not hamper use, and the swinging rack at the bottom very soon packed up movement (days even after purchase) but we have no real reason to use this function anyway. I do a lot of cooking on it, you could cook anything you like as long as the pots are not too big as they would overhang. There is mess as with all fuel burning stoves but in three years, we haven't got fed up with that yet. Every fire you light is different and beautiful, watch out for the occasional blue flame that occurs, it is truly magical. Our's burns through the night, you have to learn what is best for you, we use wood and coal together and now know just the right levels to get it to last. Love it, love it.
