Review of Tiger stove

tiger classic

We have had the tiger classic in now for 2 years.Last winter was fab, I live in a 4 bed house with all doors open it heats my home well. The airwash, may as well not have one, the best way to keep this fire from making the glass back is to keep it full and burn it hot. I do turn it down but every few hours give it a blast on full for a good 30 - 40 mins. We have just got over our 2nd winter and I have worked out the cost of heating my home with gas compared to the cost of using my tiger stove - 1st year it paid for its self 2nd year to keep it lit 24/7 all winter has cost me £400. That's coal and wood, gas would have cost me over £1000 to do this all winter, so it pays to get a stove. I know you can get better stoves that burn well but for the price the tiger stove will keep you happy and maybe a little more work at times but hay a saving of £600 + I'm sure you will keep it clean ;-) If I was to get another I would get the tiger clean burn only £20 or £30 more and now with full airwash on it.

Stove expert replied: Coal should not be used on a stove and this maybe why your glass gets black, smokeless fuel only recommended. Also full fast burn should only be 15 - 20 mins as if left longer the stove could get too hot and cause problems with the internal components and can lead to cracking of the casting.
