Review of Stovax Stockton 5 stove

Great little stove-woodburner is best!

Katrina Ryzarda 10 years ago

My friend had this stove and did not get much heat out of it, so she had an expert look at her problem. She had been sold a multifuel version, when she only used wood. The expert told her to convert it to a woodburner. She did and gained 35% extra volume, the wood burns better as it was on a bed of ash and she was delighted. When I had one installed in a flat I owned, I opted for the woodburning version. I am delighted-it heats a room 20' x 12' to toasty warm and the rest of the flat also benefits from a nice heat as the doors are kept open. People with issues must be doing something wrong-this great little stove kicks out more than enough heat! I agree that the airwash could be labelled better and a nicer handle would be an idea!

Stove expert replied: If you plan to burn only wood then it is best to get a designated woodburning stove, they provide the best conditions for wood to burn effectively and efficiently.
