Air wash slider confusing

I have just had this stove fitted. Not operated it yet as I am not comfortable with the air wash slider positions. I have had the smoke control kit fitted and this has effected the function of the slider. This kit is fitted to prevent you from operating the stove in the closed position which logic tells me the slider should not be able to be moved to the right (when looking at the stove). Mine will not move to the left into the boost position and I can move it to the right. The fitter says he has fitted it correctly and the shop where I purchased the stove says my positions have moved. Moved so that middle is boost and closed is normal. This seems illogical, confusing and wrong. Now not confident that the stove will operate properly.

Stove expert replied: The air slider is open when to the right normally and closed when to the left, you should be able to notice a difference when the fire is lit by the amount of flames when you move the it.
