Review of Stovax Stockton 5 stove
Rusting Stove
After 16 months our stove has started to rust around the edge of the door. I've had the company in who fitted it and they say it's down to the stove and not anything to do with the fitting. I only use seasoned wood but I find it odd that it has started rusting over the summer months. Should this be happening and is my stove covered under warranty? I've found Stovax not helpful and they say this is not covered in the warranty. I do not expect a 16 month old stove to start rusting!
We do not suffer from condensation in our property and we only use Stovax products to clean and maintain the woodstove. We have followed all the guidelines set out as per your instruction manual for maintenance and servicing.Stove expert replied: Do you leave the door slightly open during the months the stove is not in use? Allow plenty of air through it to prevent rust from forming. If the rust is where the door meets the body this is quite normal for discolouration to form in this area.
