Review of Stovax Riva 40 multi fuel

overheating

Carmel 12 years ago

I had one installed January 2011 with a new marble fireplace I had to have top section of fireplace replaced as marble has gone brown think overheating installer is now recommending changing marble fireplace.

There should be advice regarding fire surrounds.

Stove expert replied: the browning might indicate that there is some smoke coming into the room which actually points to the chimney draw being insufficient. Perhaps get the installer to perform a smoke draw test and also check whether this is effected by opening a window to the room. If it is then you might need extra ventilation to the room. Otherwise it may be that the chimney has not always got sufficient draw - for which there are various possible remedies.
