Matt Black Multifuel:

I have had this stove put in new for this season (autumn 2010) and am very pleased.

It is easy to use and light and because it is a very heavy chunk of cast iron it stays warm for hours after the fire has died down.

The airwash works well – it is not perfect and does require the stove to be opened up a little. I think in general it is a facility that has limited value on any stove - it helps and this one is better than the ones on my previous stoves.

The firebox is made smaller (than you think from the size of the stove) by the copious fire bricks inside – it is a large space for burning smokeless fuel but smaller than I would like for logs being lazy about cutting them smaller than I have to!

It is controllable and I have had it burning overnight with ease – I would say that it would be great to be able to shut it down slightly more than it allows but it is not an issue.

It kicks out tons of heat and is very powerful without question - I have been burning Phurnacite and chestnut logs.

The main criticism I have –which again has not really caused me problems of any note – is 1) I would like the ash pan and ash collecting space to be larger with a back to the pan to stop ash falling out when you pull it out and 2) for it to have a socket on it so you can use the stove tool to pull the pan out when it is hot – you have to pull it out with a gloved hand.

I grew up with stoves and this is the fourth one I have owned in the last 15 years (house moves – legacy stoves) and is the best of them all.
