Review of Prity 2M Cooking Stove

Very pleased

This is a brilliant stove. It is extremely easy to light and is also fuel efficient. It heats up very quickly- cold to cake baking in 15-20 mins, although it takes a bit of practice to keep the temperature constant. The hob is excellent, very responsive and can get really hot. Very easy to cook on. It also effortlessly heats a 17 foot square room in an old draughty cottage.

It's not cast iron so it's not as sturdy as a Rayburn but it's solid enough and it does mean that it's easier to move when installing. It connects to a 5" pipe but it is a VERY tight fit-persevere gently. There's no towel rail and nowhere to fit one. The oven is roomy but there are no shelves. There's no riddle but a stir with the poker does the job. The ashcan is huge and quite heavy but emptying the ash is a clean easy job.

The heat from the fire is drawn over the top of the oven, underneath the hob. This means that soot gets deposited under the hob but it's easy to lift the hot plate and clean under it.

My stove has doors at the bottom which just hide the space under it-it's not a cupboard, so you can open the doors and clean at the back of the stove.

Overall a lovely stove, so well designed! and it looks really cute, the brass and wood handles look lovely against the black background-the pictures don't do it justice.
