Review of Morso 04 stove
Great little stove.
We have had our stove for over 8 years so I think I can give a full review of the stove. Firstly it looks fantastic, if you want a small modern simple looking stove this is it. The heat out put is superb it takes about 1/2 hour before it really begins to warm up and heats our living room usually to the point that we end up opening a door to cool down! We burn smokeless coal and top with wood and if you push the air flow in a little it burns slowly for hours so you shouldn't have to use much fuel. It's wonderful and cosy and just nice so sit and look at.
The ash tray should be emptied before each use and like another review it doesn't need emptying more than once or twice a day depending on use. Now for the negatives bearing in mind we don't generally have it on every day only when it's chilly. Over the years we have had to replace the glass in the door that cracked on its own whilst we were watching TV, cost £40 for new one. The fire bricks inside began to crack very soon after purchase and now they are all cracked and have been glued back together which makes it difficult for cleaning and now to our annoyance we have found out our regular chimney sweep( no more!!) hasn't removed the bricks for some time and now we have a damaged/ blocked flue which we will have to replace at some cost. As its a small burner the glass in the door does get black fairly quickly but it's easy enough to clean. Don't be fooled by the small size of this stove as it gets very hot. We still love the stove and would have another.Stove expert replied: If you have only had to change the glass in the stove over the last 8 years you have done well especially if these are the original bricks as well, to replace these may seem expensive but if you average it out over 8 years very cheap for the warmth that it brings to your home.
