Review of Mendip stove

Nice stove

Michael Bull

It's a well built and compact stove. As it was a fairly new stove when we bought it, there were no reviews, so we bought it purely on the quality feel of the handle and damper vent.

The airwash keeps the glass quite clean, and it's very easy to control the temperature. I can keep the fire at 240 degrees easily with just the air wash fully open, and the bottom vent closed. Temperature control seems very stable.

My only issue is the ash pan. It doesn't cover below the grate fully, and any ash which does drop down the sides of the tray, or whilst you're removing the tray is difficult to remove due to the design of the bottom of the stove.

Other than that, I'm happy.
