Little Thurlow stove

The Town and Country Little Thurlow stove has been designed for the smaller fire place - as it is not very tall.

For a taller setting there is the log store model.

There is now a smoke control, Defra approved model that can be used in smokeless areas.

We have had our Little Thurlow for about a month and was bought to replace a very old Villager. The new stove is excellent. It's easy to light and the air wash system keeps the door clean... []

  • Fantastic stove

We bought this stove instead of a clearview and on the recommendation of a work colleague who had both. It's fantastic, we've only burnt wood as we can get that for free. We bought a thermometer... []

Great little stove. Easily heats a 22x12 foot room. Easy to light and easily controllable because it has 4 vents to adjust. I use mixed hard wood and once its up to optimum temperature it will tick over very well, just add a split log every 90 minutes or so. http://tinypic.com/m/i1bur5/2... []

  • Just one problem.........any suggestions?

    Ian 7 years ago

A great stove that is very controllable and economical on the number of logs used which is all I burn. My brother in law has a Dunsley Yorkshire stove and he is forever refueling his firebox... []

Stove expert replied: Wood ash is wonderful for cleaning glass and is much cheaper than buying cleaners. Do not use ash if any smokeless fuel is used as this is what causes scratches to the glass surface.

  • Not great, very dissapointed!!!

We have had the fire for nearly 12 weeks and are very disappointed with it so far. Quite a big crack has appeared already on the back fire brick. We will have to pay for a new one. As hardly... []

Stove expert replied: Again there seems to be an issue with the flue draw, I would suggest you get more advice on this which if this can be improved will undoubtedly improve the performance of the stove. Liners and Glass are not covered under warranty from any manufacturer I'm afraid.

    Graham Llewellyn 7 years ago

"You can revive it in the morning." No, it's always stone cold and I don't need the tool for lifting the ashpan. Perhaps it applies with coal but we only tried coal once and it just sat there... []
