Review of Little Thurlow stove

Highly recommended

We bought ours in August 2011 so I thought I'd give it a few months and some seriously bad weather before submitting a review.

Overall we are delighted. Great quality British-made product. Easily heats a large lounge (we have a 30s detached). Firebox is big and glass stays almost completely clear in normal use, you do get some small amount of smoking up the next day but that is easily cleaned with damp newspaper dipped in a bit of ash or burnt off.

It took us nearly a month to understand how to control the stove (it has 5 separate air inlets) but now it is brilliantly controllable. Also it took a good few small burns to get rid of the paint smell, but that is to be expected.

My top tip is...get a flue thermometer. Makes it a doddle to get the burn temperature in the right zone and thus get the best out of your stove and fuel.

Not the cheapest but would happily buy another.

Stove expert replied: Stove flue thermometers are really a good purchase!
