We bought this stove instead of a clearview and on the recommendation of a work colleague who had both. It's fantastic, we've only burnt wood as we can get that for free. We bought a thermometer for the stove and a moisture tester for the wood, these have been great gadgets, also recommended. We've mainly used seasoned wood, silver birch, cherry oak, and sycamore. With all these we've had no problems lighting or keeping it going overnight. The stove gets up to temperature very quickly and for the rest of the night is run with the bottom vents closed and the top on less than half. The glass is clear and the ash tray is emptied at most weekly. We run the fire most days through winter. The only time we had any issues was when we bought "seasoned" logs which we discovered were anything but! After 2yrs we're very pleased and are thinking of another for my parents.
