Review of Little Thurlow stove

Great stove!

Lindsay S.

This is my third winter using the Little Thurlow and it has been excellent and no need for any replacement parts. I did considerable research before deciding which stove to buy. I burn Home Fire solid fuel which burns slow and hot. It's more expensive but having tried other fuels, it is worth it as it lasts longer and gives good heat. I have turned off the night storage heaters completely in my 2 bedroomed house. It has open plan lounge/diner with open staircase to upstairs so the heat rises and keeps upstairs warm as well.

Using the solid fuel, I keep the fire going 24/7 so no need to relight in the morning. Just clear out the ashes, quick wipe of the glass with a damp cloth, refuel and away it goes! I usually refuel again early evening. It will go for hours without going out on Home Fire.

Burning wood requires more tending. The wood burning looks beautiful through the large window and log box is a good size. With careful stacking, it can go overnight but is not as easy as with solid fuel. It probably will darken the glass with wood but this is likely to happen on any stove set on a slow burn from what I read. Cleaning the glass after wood burning does require bit more effort than just the damp cloth as previously mentioned! I have never used the back air vent. Casseroles do well on the top and it's great during power cuts!

Overall, no complaints at all. A good looking stove with clean lines.
