WhatStove?

Review of Jotul F 100

what a beauty

This is my first ever stove and I`m totally impressed, not only with the heat the unit produces but with the beauty it hold and the Quality of the stove and it`s overall finish.

We decided to go for the blue enamel finish and I'm really glad we did.

The stove is beautiful to look at.

On first operation of the stove I found it hard to light but that was down to my lack of experience,The stove released fumes from the enamel finish and required the windows opening,The manual clearly stated this would happen and it`s a small price to pay.

I was like a kid with a new toy on the first day of use,I was using far to many logs but damn did I have fun!!!

Now I can light the stove really easily.

It`s just a nice to use as it is to sit and look at.

Fuel of choice for the moment has been kiln dried logs although I may try some smokeless coal at a later date.

We have not tried burning the stove over night.

I have heard that coal seems to be the fuel of choice for this.. Well we shall see?

When I saw this stove in the flesh well I had to have it.Yes it could be viewed as pricey but you get what you pay for.

I only gave the stove an average overnight burn score as I go to bed at 10pm and don`t rise until 7am.

Surely it`s impossible to keep the stove going over night for that long?

Would I recommend this stove Hell yes It`s fantastic!!

Stove expert replied: Any new stove will give off fumes on the first few firings but this should diminish once the paint has cured. Good ventilation is a must during this time.
