Review of Iron Dog Number 2

Iron Dog No 2

I am not a professional but have been using and fitting stoves for 35 years. This is the best engineered stove I have come across, the cast panels fit perfectly so much so it almost looks seamless, all screws and bolts are stainless steel as is the ashpan, the cast iron is thick enough that the stove does not require firebricks, it weighs 150kg. When you open the door it feels like opening a safe. The design is modernist you will either love it or hate it. Because of the thickness of the panels, the heat takes a while to get going but once up to temperature the stove is easily controlled by the single lever and I would put output at between 4 and 8kw depending on how much wood you put in it. It has a large firebox for it's size and will easily do an overnight burn. The stove is at the top end, price wise, but in my opinion worth it.
