Review of Hunter Herald Inset 7

Fitted the inset burner last September and tried various fuels but all very disappointing. It no way puts out 7.5 kw.(more like 2-3kw)The only way to get any heat out is to have it roaring with an electric fan placed underneath to force some hot air out of the top vents(similar to the american set ups)Without the fan there is no heat.I wish I would have bought a free standing one, at least the heat has chance to escape into the room rather than into the wall and up the chimney. It has been fitted as per manufacturers instructions.

Stove expert replied: Insert models should produce heat into the room providing it has been insulated round the insert box to prevent the heat from radiating into the builders opening. Worth checking!
