Review of Hunter Herald Inset 7

disappointed customer

BOUGHT THIS STOVE TO SIT EXACTLY WITHIN AN EXISTING 'NORMAL FIREPLACE OPENING. DISAPPOINTING RESULTS. IT TAKES ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF BEFORE ANY NOTICABLE HEAT IS PUT OUT. THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL QUOTES HAVING THE AIRWASH CONTROL OPEN ABOUT 50% BUT IF U OPEN IT MORE THAN A FRACTION THE HEATED AIR VENTING OUT APPEARS TO BE SUCKED INTO THE STOVE ( THE VENTING CONTROL FOR AIRWASH AND HEATED AIR COMING OUT ARE IN THE SAME COMPARTMENT. I CONTACTED BOTH MAIN SUPPLIER AND HUNTER STOVES IN CASE THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG AND ALTHOUGH I WAS OFFERED ADVICE I COULDN'T GET A SITE VISIT WHICH I REQUESTED ( JUST TO CHECK EVERYTHING WAS OK AS I AM UNFAMILAR WITH INSET STOVES OR ANY MULTIFUEL SYSTEMS.

Stove expert replied: sounds to me like the installer (or an installer) should be booked in for a site visit here. It sounds like there could be a strong draw on the chimney.
