Review of Hunter Herald 14 stove

Herald 14 airwash system

Alison Martin 11 years ago

Hi We have recently had a Herald 14 with wrap around boiler fitted, multi fuel option, but no matter how we try we are unable to keep the glass clean. Is this a problem that anyone else is having as we feel this is the only thing that lets the stove down plenty of hot water and the rads keep us warm.

Stove expert replied: Where are you keeping the air wash controls? Leave fully open so that the heated air can wash over the glass to keep clean, you should notice a difference. What fuel are you burning? Make sure that the stove gets at least two short periods of fast burn twice a day, to achieve this open all air controls fully and let the stove roar for 15mins (no more than 20 mins max). Is the chimney lined, this can make a big difference?
