Review of Hunter Herald 14 stove

Not impressed

S Besford 12 years ago

Had a Charnwood 50B for 23 years, Great stove, so easy to operate and control and very economical. Started leaking last year, so replaced with Hunter 14. Worst decision we have made. The controls are still stiff, the firebars jump if riddling is just slightly too much, so stove has to go out before bars put back - really great when it's cold! It's just happened again, so I am sitting here in coat and gloves. Ash everywhere. Have emptied ash pan, plus two more lots of ash as its behind ash pan, in grooves, in nooks and crannies. Uses a lot of fuel, yet house never really warm. Fire bed is high, so difficult to put enough fuel on. Am saving up for another Charnwood.
