Review of Heta Inspire 40 stove

Great stove, but goes through fuel like a crazy... stove

Hi

I've had a few stoves in the past in previous properties and installed this one just over a week ago in my home. The stove looks great on the green tiled hearth I made for it . We were worried it may look a bit too modern in our home, but it fits in quite well.

This stove weighs about 75kg and comes sitting on 4 adjustable bolts to aid levelling. The stove has an external air supply port which I ran a semi-rigid flexible aluminium duct from at the rear, through the wall. I ran just over a meter of 5" vitreous flue from the top outlet of the stove, which bends 45 degrees and joins a 6" Dinak twin wall flue before going through the wall and up the side of our 2 story house.

The stove doesn't hold a great deal of fuel, but seems to get going much quicker than any stove I've had before. The only trouble we have with this stove is that it burns fuel very quickly, even with the external air supply lever at it's lowest setting. This may be due to my flue creating too much draw, so I am going to try fitting a damper to the flue just above the stove to see if that helps slow things down a wee bit.

Another observation I've made is the heat from the underside of the stove. This stove is supposed to be able to sit on a 12mm glass hearth according to Heta. My hearth is about double that, and I'm still not sure if this is thick enough as it gets super hot.
