Review of Futurefire Panoramic FX2

Future fire FX2

I have had this fire for 3 years now. I love the design but have been disappointed by the performance of the fire. As the previous reviewer said the fire bricks are very poorly designed, the fit is very poor and the side and top bricks fall down all the time. Surely I shouldn't need to cement them in. The handle is quite loose and the latch pulls at the rope seal and frays it. I only use well seasoned wood below 20% moisture but still the fire isn't as controllable as my other wood burner, you basically need the air flow fully open and the door slightly open to keep the fire going and the glass does get dirtier than that one, a Contura 51l, which really is an exceptional stove so I might have been spoilt.

Stove expert replied: Regarding the poor control of the stove, do have the flue draw checked and make sure that there is enough free air in the room as both can have considerable bearing on a stoves performance. Great looking stove, it is a shame that you have had difficulties with the internal liners not staying in place.
