The distinctive looks of Firestorm stoves are quite Marmite. You either love it or hate it. I like its cheeky steam punkiness.
I have only had it a week. I got it as a clearance item with its log store plinth thrown in. Even at the normal retail price I think it is good value compared to any other quality British made stove. The installer said it was easy to put in. It is easy to operate too. You burn logs or coal on the same grate. There are just 2 controls for primary and secondary airflow. It lights easily. I have never needed more than 1 match or any fire lighters. It is a bit roary as it gets going but pretty quiet once it settles down to cruising speed. It is very controllable and the glass stays clean as well. It is easier to see the flames and to load and clean the stove with it on its plinth. It would look a bit lost in my inglenook without it too. It puts out plenty heat and warms my large living room quickly for all its solid construction and 4.5 kw nominal output. A couple of tiny niggles. It is very solid - somewhat over engineered. This includes the ash pan which is so heavy I have a job to lift it! Also it could do with a slightly deeper ledge to catch the ash as you open the door. The handle comes off for reasons I cannot fathom. Why not have a thread on it?
