Review of Firefox 8 stove

FF8 twin door

Arran Shirovay 11 years ago

Hi all and hope your enjoying your traditional heat source, I've had the stove fitted since mid Feb 2013.

I'm a tree surgeon so I know good/bad fuel and like to think I do it justice by using mainly Ash, I'm not too keen on oak but each to his own. The fire has been great and apart from a stiff/sticky airwash control and hot door handles it's good. Now I've noticed a small issue over the past week which is new to me... I like both doors open to be with the fire on occasion, never had any smoke enter the room with doors open, but now if I have doors open smoke creeps back on the top left of the fire, close left door with right door open, close right door and open left no smoke creep??? Both doors open smoke creeps in from top left corner again??? I gave it a thorough clean today, arm up stove pipe and small brush rattled all

clean .

Firefox 8 twin door 8/10 for build as ash has places to gather, door handles work loose constantly, airwash is vague on mine

Cheers

Stove expert replied: Is there enough free air in the room? Has the flue been lined? The smoke coming back into the room should be investigated and rectified asap or only use the stove with the doors shut until a solution has been found. Make sure you have a CO2 alarm in the room.
