Review of Firefox 8 stove

Very pleased with this stove

We bought this stove to fit in a 4 bed 70s semi to give you an idea of the size of our house.

Firstly the stove was well packed.

Everyone advised us to get a 5kw stove as an 8 would be too hot. As the plan is to get the stove up to temp and open the doors and heat as much of the house as possible, we ignored everybody. I'm glad we did as it heats up down stairs nicely, which consists of the living room, kitchen, second reception room and shower room. It also manages to keep our upstairs warm enough to stop the central heating coming on. So it's doing what we planned now but come the frosty nights I'm sure there will be some change.

The stove itself has a nice sized fire box which can hold large logs with ease. The double riddle grate is excellent for knocking the ash off smokeless coal.

Lighting is a pleasure as long as you leave enough air gaps between your logs and use some nice soft wood kindling to get it going.

The look and finish of the stove is excellent and the spare handle is nice. It also comes with a little pot of touch up paint.

Remember if your planning to burn smokeless coal etc and you want/need a liner, get a high grade liner as the extra cost is worth it long term.
