Review of Firefox 8 stove

Firefox 8 twin door

Dominic 11 years ago

I bought the twin door version of the firefox 8 stove. I just preferred the look over the single door.

It looks fantastic and heats the whole bottom floor of the house. As the bottom floor heats up we open the door to the upstairs and allow the heat to warm up the rest of the house. Very easy to control and use.

We were recommended a 5kw but decided to go for the 8kw and see how we got on. We are glad we did. The firebox is a better size and the extra heat is there when it gets really cold. We have not tried a overnight burn as it is so easy to light and quick to get going.

We are going to try the tip bellow and remove the riddle as we only burn logs. I have however seen a wood burning kit for this stove.

We have a draughty, cold Victorian house and this stove has made winter a real pleasure.

The only issue I have is that it is not dead straight in the build.. Its out by a few mm on one side which if you really look (with a spirit level) is a little annoying, but for the price I would not hesitate to buy again.

Stove expert replied: Disappointing that the stove is not built true, but the performance overtakes this for the customer. Nice honest review.
