Review of Firefox 8 Classic stove

Firefox 8 Twin Door

Lyndon 11 years ago

Fitted the Firefox 8 TD with wood burning kit in August 2012 into an 1850's stone cottage in Central Scotland. It as been used daily since installation and we have not been disappointed. With this being our first stove it took a short time to learn to control it but we have now mastered this and it really does throw out some heat. The glass does soot up but mainly when turned down low, once burning at normal temp with a steady flame it burns off quite quickly.

We have it fitted in the lounge approx 4m x 5m and it heats the rest of the house and turns the central heating off, this is with the aid of a fan sitting on the top of the stove which helps with circulating the heat.

With this being our first stove I really can't compare against others but having used the Firefox for 7 months I would highly recommend it.

We did have a small issue with the door being slightly miss aligned but found that swapping the door hinge pins around solved this quickly.

Overall an excellent stove for the price
