Review of Firefox 5 stove
Could really do with some help as the screen on my stove is black!!
Hi there, I'm wondering if someone can help me?? Got this little stove fitted a few weeks back and love the heat coming off it, but I am having a nightmare time with the glass!!! I started using the coal man down the road and felt that the logs were a bit wet.... so I tried a different coalman with bone dry logs and the same thing keeps happening...... my glass is completely black the next morning!! I bought a stove cleaner which cost me a fortune and even then I have to use a razor to try and clean the really hard on stuff.... I also contacted the supplier who told me it was probably what I was burning..... Really don't know what else to try.... I understand seeing the flames isn't a big deal, but trying to scrape off the dirt the next morning is crazy!!!!! Can you please tell me how to operate? as I must be doing something wrong.... I normally leave the thing partly open at the bottom, but this way it uses so much fuel and the airwash at the top I normally have over to the right.... is this right??? Would appreciate any help at this stage. Thank you!!\n\n
Stove expert replied: The airwash should be left fully open and you should be able to see the metal move when you operate the lever, it should open fully. If the inside metal does not disappear then the airwash may not be operating correctly and you should go back to the supplier. You may also be burning overnight? slow burning will blacken the glass.
