Review of Firefox 5 stove

Excellent Stove

Wilma Johnston 2 years ago

We inherited this stove when we moved house and although we intended installing a new one, having used it on a few occasions, we changed our mind. We wouldn''t change it now. Initially, we thought it looked too small but it puts out lots of heat. This is an excellent stove amply heating our lounge and kitchen.

You can boil a kettle or cook a slow casserole on top, and then there''s the warm glow on dark winter nights.

We empty the ashes every 5 or so days depending on the fuel we are using, maintenance is simple.

Leave the draft on (both levers to +) and the stove lights easily with a firelighter and dry logs. There are products to clean the window however if you leave the top lever airwash open (set to +) the glass stays clean.

A question below about the handle getting hot - well of course the handle gets hot, so you buy a fire/heat resistant leather glove/gauntlet for £10 from a stove shop or amazon and the hot handle is absolutely no problem.

Obviously if you have young children or inquisitive pets you get a fireguard for when you are out of the room and until they understand not to touch... you would do this with any fire.

I can thoroughly recommend the Firefox 5.
