Review of Firefox 5 stove
Very warm
Great stove, looks good too. Heats our 3 bedroom detached very well. Usual problems with cracked rear firebrick. The blanking disc at the back has fallen off recently and the lugs that the disc screws onto have actually sheared off. I noticed that there was some rope seal around the hole, is this the usual way to screw the disc on? I can't put the disc back on now as there is no way to attach it. I notice that an expert recommended sticking it on with fire cement. Is this acceptable as it would save a bit of hassle? Thanks. Andy
Stove expert replied: The blanking disc can be re-attached with fire cement but without lugs to hold it in place this will be a temporary fix only.
