Review of Firefox 5 stove
Firfox 5 CB II review.

1) In my opinion the front grill is far too close to the glass, this impedes the progress of the airflow over the glass. I solved this issue by making a new grate from mild steel. However, you may want to try putting the original grate in back to front. Extra care should be taken as this increases the gap under the grate. 2) There are gaps between the side firebrick and the baffle plate that allowed some gasses to exit towards the rear of the stove. In my opinion this weekened the airflow over the forward edge of the baffle plate causing turbulent airflow. I solved this by removing a sliver of material from the top of the side bricks. With these changes and good dry logs no more dirty glass, this is really the only big problem. I love the look and the price. The CB version was never going to burn overnight so I don't mark it down too badly. Happy I did not spend 900 pounds despite the airwash after all it only takes 5 mins to clean it anyway.Stove expert replied: Please be aware that if any stove comes out of a stove it might very well be due to a problem with chimney installation - and the draw on chimney is not correct. You would therefore need to review installation and not use stove until sorted. Any modifications made to stoves will invalidate the warranty.
