Review of Firebelly FB2 double sided stove
Firebelly 2 stove
It’s my first wood burner and has taken some trial and error to get it working properly. Once you get it and understand it it will start and fire every time. I read loads of reviews and watch countless YouTube videos but if you follow this method it will work every time. I tend to use a combination of newspaper , kindling and firelighters.
Start with 3 evenly spaced bits of kindling and a fire lighter in between them, stack another layer of kindling on top and make sure you leave air gaps, then another layer and another. This fire eats kindling and needs a lot of it to get it going. Lite the fire and leave the door slightly open, top and bottom vents both open. Within 5 mins the fire will be roaring. 10 mins in I close the door, once the fire is roaring I add some smaller logs on and build it up that way. I don’t tend to overload the stove with wood as it eats through wood easily. Then after 25 - 35 mins I start to close the bottom vent, after an hour I trim the top vent. Only issue I have with this fire is that the rear glass (non opening side) always is a little cloudy where as the front never gets dirty. Quick clean in the morning and good to go again
