Review of Firebelly FB1 stove
Firebelly FB1
We were very limited by the size of our fireplace aperture, as we had originally wanted an open fire, but the chimney wouldn't draw. A stove was not our first choice, nor was the Firebelly, but it fitted! One year on, we couldn't be more delighted with it. We use the stove far more than we would have used an open fire, it is so much cleaner, easier to light and cosy. It looks great whether lit or not, and the big glass window, means we have not lost any of the atmosphere of an open fire, all we have lost is the bonfire smell in the morning and the soot and ash debris in the room.\n\nThe firebelly airwash system works really well, we had a small problem whe the glass door crecked after a couple of uses, but this was swiftly replaced and we have had no further problems. The air vent control is a little tricky and gets pretty hot, but once it is set, we don't fiddle around with it too much. Althought the stove does not burn through the night, the latent heat in the stove keeps the room warm until morning. Highly recommended, contemporary addition that is practical and sustainable. We only burn timber off cuts from our joinery workshop and it's brilliant.
