We have had ours for about 9 to 10 years it was cheap to buy and easy to use.don't put too much wood on it but get it hot and keep it hot.(uses less wood)As others say two wheels closed top
one open when hot.Goes like a rocket but all stoves need to be kept an eye on in case they are getting too hot, use a magnetic temperature gauge they cost £10 and they will save you wood and much more.We have just got hold a Dolby multifuel stove and fitted it but trusty old evergreen will stay in the shed until I am happy with new stove.
We bought this burner a few months ago and were complete beginners. The fire itself is great, looks effective and can hold large amounts of coal or wood. We had a little trouble with the wheels
originally and the instructions weren't very clear, when looking at which wheels to have open to get optimum heat output. We have settled on all 3 open to start it up and once hot and burning well we close the bottom 2, leaving the top wheel open slightly, this seems to give off the best heat but we are still experimenting.
Bought this stove about a year ago and absolutely love it. It was very reasonably priced...cheap even...but gives out great heat and very easy to clean. No problems with it whatsoever. When
we moved into this house there was a much larger stove here which was difficult to light and keep going, this smaller one is easy to manage. We also lined the chimney which makes the draw much improved.I actually bought stove paint and refinished the stove in white rather than black to go with our decor.
We bought this stove for our previous house more as an aesthetically pleasing item but did not install it and then moved to a house with no central heating. At once we installed it and it served
us really well to heat the house through two pretty bleak winters. Admittedly, the fire had to be on most of the time to keep the house warm but it belted out the heat to heat a semi detached 3 bedroom house with no problem. The only minor comment is that two of the internal side screen cast iron sheets warped with the intense heat and one snapped. Having said that it is a great fire. We have only used logs and it is surprising how it takes some good sized logs. Easy to clean and empty out.
