We have two of these (one stainless steel legs & one black legs). Fitted over 6 years ago. One sits totally out on hearth other is slightly set into the wall/fireplace. Amazing how much more heat comes from the one which sits out. This item gets most use and I now need to replace rope seal. No prob I thought!! Supposedly just ease out the pins holding the door and it lifts off - NO CHANCE - the top of the unit sits over the door with approx 1/2 inch gap but this is not enough to allow the pins to be taken out. Suggestion given now is I need to unbolt the top of the fire so door can be taken off!! Love the fires not so sure about replacing the rope - surely the info given cannot be correct???
