Replaced our open fire with the Esse 350 inset - wish I had done it years ago. Simple to fit in the fireplace opening. So good the chimney is warm in the bedroom. Lights in a few minutes, will re-start from the minimum of embers. We only burn wood so do not manage to get the fire to last overnight but as it lights so quickly don't see the problem. Air wash not so good with the damper in but I am so pleased with the stove. Went through last winter with £150 worth of timber plus half the useage of oil and the house was warm.

Stove expert replied: A stove is so much more efficient than an open fire it's surprising more people do not install this type!
