Review of Esse 100 stove

Esse 100

Great stove, little pricey on initial outlay. Air tight controls. You could kill a roaring fire in two seconds with the excellent air wash control, didn't leak air at all. Large glass was the main selling point. Installed myself in a 100 yr old fireplace with original chimney. Could get it searingly hot, but totally controllable. Reordered baffle from manufacturer after 2 years, Excellent staff, good support. Have since moved house after running it for 3 years and regretably left it behind, have since bought a cheaper stove and am missing it already. Cannot recommend highly enough. Bottom line you get what you pay for.

Stove expert replied: If you install a stove yourself do get it checked by the local building control office to insure that it complies to current regulations.
